Making It Memorable is the combination of two companies (Event Planning & Catering) under one roof. A one stop for any event. The idea of the company was birth in late 2001 after Sam Kitt as told by her employer her position was being eliminated as a result of the company’s recent buyout. Sam used this opportunity to put her dream of becoming a Caterer into action. Sam consulted with her mother (Yvonne Kitt) about her pending plans, and it was at this time her mom expressed her desires of branching out on her own as a Wedding Consultant.

After intense research into both the catering and wedding industry, Sam & Yvonne developed the concept of Making It Memorable. In 2001 the business was launched on a part-time basis.

The idea behind Making It Memorable is to create a company which will provide services to cover all planning, execution and catering needs for both social and corporate events.

Making It Memorable Event Planning and Catering continues to provide services for both social and corporate events within metro Atlanta area.

Making It Memorable Event Planning and Catering became a limited liability corporation on May 1st 2007.

 

At Making It Memorable our mission is to provide services for every aspect of an event, making it a memorable event with a stress-free process. This leaves you the client free to enjoy your guest and all the festivities of your event.

We plan to accomplish our mission by working closely with you to understand your needs, committing to the event from conception to the exodus of your last guest.

 
At Making It Memorable our goal is to develop an intimate working relationship with the client, providing as much or as little help needed towards a successful event. In addition to providing a memorable event, we eliminate the stress of doing it all yourself.
 

Sam Kitt

Sam has been cooking for family and friends from the age of 8years old. Sam is a self thought chef who gained her foundation in cooking in her native country of Guyana from her mother and grandmother.

Sam’s commitment to education and enhancement of industry knowledge lead her to enhance upon her hands-on experience by with professional certification training at Georgia Perimeter College, taking both the Wedding Coordination and Event Coordinator courses. Sam also holds a degree in Finance from Georgia State University.

Sam developed her organizational skills which have proven invaluable in the event planning industry during her 8+ years in management roles in corporate America.

Sam’s goal to be the best chef/planner she can be in order to provide the best services to the client forces her to keep up with industry tends styles, products and services. To accomplish this personal goal Sam has membership with industry organizations such as ISES, which she is currently a student member. Sam plans to become a permanent member of ISES at the end of her student membership.

Yvonne has 10+ years experience in the wedding industry, working as a Bridal/Wedding Consultant at one of Atlanta’s premier bridal salons.

Yvonne has gained all of her experienced from self teaching, job training and hands-on experience. Much of her event planning experience was gained from the coordination of several weddings, conferences and other group meetings at her church, where she is an ordain minister.

Yvonne’s busy schedule and commitments to her church, forces her to keep up with the trends and industry standards through subscription to industry publications.

Sam and Yvonne consult with each other as a team on all events.
